LEATHER.HEAD WELDED

Following the release of their most recent EP welded, mighty cult favourites leather.head have shared some long-awaited visuals for its sprawling title track. Citing midwest emo, post-hardcore and slowcore as influential genres, leather.head's esoteric sound is visceral, ramshackled and politically potent. Existing within the tight-knit community of South East London's underground scene, the band contains 3 brothers and members of fellow TMR tips piglet and Lobby. Featuring frequent collaborator and poet Zia Ahmed, guitarist/vocalist Toby Evans-Jesra comments on the accompanying video: "its a long and sombre song, would be a terrible karaoke number, we thought Zia performing it would be funny and we were sort of right." Co-directed with youngest Evans-Jesra brother Ethan (who is not in the band but runs the bootlegged gig and video production channel Reality Breakdown), the black and white clip is the antithesis of your typical karaoke scenario. Adding weight and a distinctly dry sense of humour to the sparse yet poignant lyricism, 'welded' is a serious yet self-aware offering from a group that continue to cut through the noise.
